About Julia
Julia Matthews-McClain is the Founder and Executive Director of Julia School, Inc. As a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Julia was fortunate to be educated on more than basic academics. After completing Associates degrees in Library and Microcomputer Technologies, she realized many young students in her community were not being taught important life skills in either their school or home settings.
Julia is a prolific writer with a wide range of interests, and she has developed most of the Julia School curriculum. She manages the Julia School operations while also working in the Psychology Department at NC State University. She and her husband, Reginald, live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
About Julia School
Although it started small (in a small basement room), Julia School, Inc. has continued to grow. Now it is a North Carolina corporation that received IRS certification in 2011 as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization providing supplemental education services to elementary school children.
Their activities focus on their primary mission: To teach and encourage elementary school age children in their educational goals, social skills, spiritual growth, manners and quality character traits.
